The Los Angeles Lakers have hired Frank Vogel to head their coaching staff going into the 2019-2020 season. Vogel famously coached the Indiana Pacer at the start of the decade, consistently losing to the Miami Heat and Lebron’s “Big 3” come playoff time. Jason Kidd, who was rumored to be a candidate for the head coaching position, has been tapped as lead assistant and will hopefully use his own playing experience as a premier point guard to propel Lonzo Ball to the next level.
Lebron has had plenty of experience playing with and against Kidd of course, winning a gold medal together at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and of course losing to Kidd’s Mavericks in the 2011 NBA Finals. I’d say I hope this be a season void of turmoil but we’re talking about Lebron and the Lakers here, so the most I’ll ask is that nobody dies.
