Author of the The Hunger Games trilogy, Suzanne Collins, has announced a prequel novel to the uber-successful series set to release in May of 2020. While the original trilogy told the story of Katniss Everdeen and her struggle against the corrupt government in place in Panem (what was once America), this tale will take place 64 years before the events of Katniss and only 10 years after the war which brought the fictional world to the way it was.
Centered around the 10th Hunger Games, Suzanne has stated that she wants “to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival” with this novel. If it’s anything like the first three books, it can’t be anything but good.
