Firefighters fighting to contain fire in iconic cathedral
The iconic Notre Dame de-Paris cathedral went up in flames early yesterday evening causing global outcry. The Cathedral, built in the 13th century, was an obligatory visit when touring Paris, drawing over 13 million tourists a year.
In addition to being a powerhouse tourist attraction, Notre Dame is also ingrained in many moments throughout French history and represents much more than just a building to the Parisian population if not people around the world. Thankfully, firefighters have been working tirelessly and have managed to get the flame under control while saving a large portion of the historic building.
