Carey Price Steals the 2019 NHL Awards With Heartwarming Gesture

The NHL awards took place last night in Las Vegas. Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lightning took home the Hart Trophy as league MVP after an impressive 128 point season among other awards. The Lightning snagged another award when Andrei Vasilevskiy was awarded the Vezina trophy as leagues top goaltender. Other notable wins were Mark Giordano of the Calgary Flames grabbing the Norris trophy for Best defenceman and Elias Pettersson winning the Calder trophy for the league’s top rookie.

However, the star of the show was undoubtedly Montreal Canadians goalie, Carey Price, who wasn’t nominated for a single award. During a fan tribute, 11 year old Anderson Whitehead was brought on stage to honor his mother who had recently passed away from cancer. Anderson, who’s favorite player is Price, was surprised by the goalie on stage. After being given a jersey and getting invited to next year’s All-Star game by Price, Anderson fell into Carey’s arms crying.
