With the St.Louis Blue 5-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks, they advanced to the Stanley Cup Final where they will face-off against the Boston Bruins. Ironically, the last time the Blues made the Cup Final in 1970, their opponent was also the Bruins.
The match-up from 49 years ago resulted in a 4 game sweep for Boston and one of the most iconic photos/moments in hockey history when Bobby Orr scored the overtime, Cup winning goal. St. Louis is the oldest active NHL without a Stanley Cup victory, while the Bruins last win came in 2011 and last Cup appearance came 2 years later in 2013.
